Purpose of the Project
The purpose of this Environmental Assessment (EA) is to evaluate options to improve transportation and safety on 500 West, 4300 North, Pleasant View Drive, and other city streets used by quarry haul trucks within the city of Pleasant View, Utah.
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), in cooperation with Pleasant View City, are conducting this EA in accordance with:
Following established NEPA processes and guidelines, the study team will identify the Preferred Alternative that meets the needs of the proposed action while minimizing impacts to the human and natural environments.
FHWA and UDOT will consider the need for safe and efficient transportation; the social, economic, and environmental impacts of proposed improvements; and federal, state, and local environmental protection goals.
The comment period fro the March 23, 2017 public hearing is now passed. The project team is moving forward with responding to comments submitted during the period. Feel free to submit comments through the website by selecting the "Contact Us" link at the top of the page.
Pleasant View City is coordinating with property owners, business owners, interested individuals, and other organizations to ensure that all issues and potential concerns are identified and considered before a final decision is made. NEPA Assignment Information
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by UDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated January 17, 2017, and executed by FHWA and UDOT.

Comments provided to the project team will be reviewed and considered by UDOT as it develops the project. All comments received will be documented in the project record. The study team will contact you if they need additional information or clarification.
Responses to comments made during the EA public review period will be considered as Pleasant View City and UDOT prepare the Final EA.
Comments that are publicly displayed through online tools must follow UDOT’s Social Media Policy Participant Code of Conduct. Comments that are unacceptable under that policy may be removed at the administrator’s discretion.
