Purpose of the Project
The purpose of this Environmental Assessment (EA) is to evaluate options to improve transportation and safety on 500 West, 4300 North, Pleasant View Drive, and other city streets used by quarry haul trucks within the city of Pleasant View, Utah.
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), in cooperation with Pleasant View City, are conducting this EA in accordance with:
Following established NEPA processes and guidelines, the study team will identify the Preferred Alternative that meets the needs of the proposed action while minimizing impacts to the human and natural environments.
FHWA and UDOT will consider the need for safe and efficient transportation; the social, economic, and environmental impacts of proposed improvements; and federal, state, and local environmental protection goals.
Since the November 2015 Alternatives Open House, the project team selected an action alternative from alternatives shown at the meeting and conducted an environmental impact analysis of the selected action and no-build alternatives. The team incorporated feedback received from project stakeholders, Pleasant View City, UDOT, and FHWA and compared it with the environmental impacts to identify a preferred alternative.
